Career Level: Senior (more than two years of experience in NGOs).

Qualification and professional qualities needed for the job are:
- LLB, LLM, and other related fields of Social Science with 5 years experience for LLB/BA holders and 4 years for MA holders
- Proficiency in writing and speaking of English are mandatory
- Effective writing skill in English is very crucial to come up with standard concept notes, project proposals
- Multi-tasking approach and capacity and
- Capacity to work under pressure
About AHRE
Association for Human Rights in Ethiopia (AHRE) is a non-governmental, non-partisan, and not-for-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of human rights protection in Ethiopia. Major program components of AHRE are Research, Research/Evidence-based advocacy, and capacity building for state and non-state actors on human rights and related issues. This will be carried out through reviewing the human rights situations in the country and performing advocacy, capacity building training and other related tasks that cannot be carried out effectively by other human rights organizations for different reasons. Our mission is to contribute to the improvement of the human rights situations in Ethiopia by conducting research, reviewing existing human rights conditions within the country and defending basic human rights. It is also the organization’s mission to assist the government in the efforts of improving human right treatments in the country. AHRE is looking for a project officer. He/she will prepare project proposals and also implement them to guarantee operational efficiency.
Responsibilities of Project Officer
- Internalize project contents and effectively plans, coordinates, and guides the implementation of the project she/he will be assigned to
- Provides technical and organizational support to the Project implementation team, including team members in regions (regional focal persons)
- Liase with donor organizations, governemtn and community stakeholders on project related issues
- Write concept notes, project proposals and related documents to win funds
- Follows up timely disbursement of project funds;
- Organizes and conducts project monitoring visits;
- Compiles project reports from regional focal persons and prepares standard report periodically (montly, quarterly, bi-annually and annually) to the donors, pertinent stakeholders and AHRE
- Collect, prepare and document success stories and best practices that can be lesson and contribute for visibility of the organization
- Facilitate recruitment of consultants for activities that require outsourcing professionals
- Organize and conduct baseline surveys, mid-term evaluation and related tasks
- Carrying out other duties assigned by the Program Director and/or Executive Director
